Pennsylvania Industries for the Blind and Handicapped, which was founded in 1956, started 2014 with a new name: UniqueSource Products & Services.

In a letter announcing the Harrisburg-based organization's new identity, President and CEO Vincent M. Loose noted that its status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit remains the same.

“What hasn’t changed are the reasons to do business with UniqueSource Products & Services – quality products, reliable services and a mission that is unmatched within the industry,” Loose wrote. “We offer products manufactured and services performed by Pennsylvanians with disabilities, and our customer purchases help to employ thousands of individuals.”

According to its website, UniqueSource offers services including call centers, document imaging, storage and shredding, mailroom operations, carpet and carpet tile installation, and janitorial and grounds maintenance, as well as products such as clothing, office supplies, cleaning agents, and a full line of safety items custom designed for highway, construction and utility companies, municipalities, private sector contractors, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Turnpike Commission and other state agencies.
