Colucci & Co., a Carlisle custom jeweler and retail shop, has been sold and will begin its next life this year as a wholesale jewelry outlet under the name The Greatest Gift.
On Dec. 20, Cumberland Ventures, a local group of investors, acquired the inventory of the jewelry and gift store formerly operated by Colucci & Co., according to the release from Matt Tuckey of the Tuckey Cos.
The shop at 117 N. Hanover St. will now be called The Greatest Gift.
Colucci & Co., owned by Melissa Colucci, is getting out of the retail business in favor of the wholesale jewelry market. The Greatest Gift will continue to feature Colucci's jewelry in the store.
Specifics of the acquisition are not being released, Tuckey said. He declined to name the partners in Cumberland Ventures. The LLC was created in October and its address is 170 Stover Drive, the same as Tuckey Cos., according to records with the Pennsylvania Department of State.
"We have the opportunity to serve in a development role for the transition of the store while also working to develop the overall property," Tuckey said.
Aside from the shop Colucci operated, the rest of 117 N. Hanover St. has been vacant since the Carlisle Farmers Market closed in January 2009. The Tuckeys' real estate company, 3T Investors, owns the building.

Editor's note: This story has been modified to correct the nature of the business transaction between Cumberland Ventures and Colucci & Co. Cumberland Ventures acquired the inventory of the shop and has renamed the store; Melissa Colucci will continue to operate Colucci & Co. as a wholesale business.
