Mr. Steve's Homebrew closing, but owner moving to new Bailee's Homebrew

By

A beer and wine supply store in York has closed its doors, but the owner said he's jumping on another opportunity in the same field.

Mr. Steve’s Homebrew & Wine Supplies outside of York will close Dec. 30, but owner Steve Stoppard said he will be part of a new beer supply store opening Jan. 15, according to an announcement he sent to his store’s customers.

The store, in Springettsbury Township, will close after 20 years in business, but Stoppard said he will be part of the new Bailee’s Homebrew & Wine Supplies at 2252 Industrial Highway, also in the township.

Stoppard said he will be teaming up with businessman Bob Elminger in the new venture.

“I will be bringing my years of experience by offering classes in beer and wine making (and) continuing to serve you, my valued customers,” he wrote in the announcement.

At one point, the store had four locations, two in York County, one in Cumberland County and another in Lancaster County, but the York location was the last one remaining.
