Cumberland County-based drugstore chain Rite Aid Corp. said it recorded a same-store sales increase of about 2.8 percent for the five weeks ending Nov. 30.
Total drugstore sales for the period went up about 1.6 percent to more than $2.43 billion, according to the East Pennsboro Township-based company.
Last year included effects from Superstorm Sandy, Rite Aid said.
Same-store sales for the 13-week period ending Nov. 30 were up about 2.3 percent.
Rite Aid is scheduled to release financial results for its fiscal 2014 third quarter Thursday.
The chain as of Nov. 30 operated 4,595 stores, down from more than 4,600 in the like period last year.
