Midstate residential building permits are on the rise
Another sign that construction is rebounding: Residential building permits in the midstate were up 12 percent through the first 10 months of the year compared with the same period a year ago, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Census released local permit data for September and October last week, following delays because of the partial government shutdown in October.
Through October, metropolitan areas in the midstate issued 2,569 residential permits, according to unadjusted monthly data.
The value of those permits was estimated at $418 million, up 23 percent from 2012 figures through the first 10 months. Those values are not adjusted for inflation.
Where will we finish the year? Here's a look at recent history.
