Businesses featured this week: Hempfield School Board, Penn State Altoona, Pennsylvania College of Art & Design

Lancaster-based Pennsylvania College of Art & Design elected Jessica Sponsler and James D. Warner trustees. Sponsler is chairwoman of the liberal arts department and an assistant professor of art history with the school. Previously, she taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, Elon Universit and Durham Technical Community College. She has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA and doctorate from UNC. Warner is CEO of the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority.

Hempfield School Board named Tab Musser director of student services. He was principal of Landisville Middle School. He has a dual bachelor’s degree in special education and elementary education from Clarion University, a master of education degree in curriculum and instruction from Penn State University and a doctorate in educational leadership. Doug Dandridge was named principal of Landisville Middle School. He was assistant principal of Centerville Middle School. He has a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education from Millersville University, a master’s degree in information systems from Penn State Harrisburg and a master’s degree in instructional design and technology from Philadelphia University. Derrick Frank was named district transportation coordinator. He was a supervisor with UPS for 13 years, most recently overseeing dispatch. He is a graduate of Elim Bible Institute. Shannon Zimmerman was named a communications specialist. She managed public relations and social media with Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Elizabethtown College.

Penn State Altoona named Michael T. McNamara to its Transportation Engineering Advisory Board. He is president of East Pennsboro Township-based Gannett Fleming Transit & Rail Systems, which specializes in transit and railroad track, signal and electric traction design. He is a professional engineer with more than 35 years of experience, a BS in electrical engineering from Drexel University and a MS in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
