Architecture and engineering

Pittsburgh-based Western Pennsylvania Minority Supplier Development Council gave Dawood Engineering of Hampden Township its Supplier of the Year Award.

Designations

Burlington, N.J.-based Infraspection Institute named Joseph Cline a level-III certified infrared thermographer. Level-III training focuses on best practices for infrared inspections and activities. He is president of Mechanicsburg-based Keystone Infrared LLC.

Education

Printing Industries of America's Ben Franklin Honor Society gave Derry Township-based Milton Hershey School its 2013 Frederick D. Kagy Education Award of Excellence in recognition of having one of the nation's outstanding graphic arts programs. The school's graphic communication technologies program is certified by PIA. In 2013, students in the program earned 92 national certifications in three print-education areas. They also participated in job shadowing, work experiences and dual-enrollment college courses.

Media

Susquehanna Township-based Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association gave Ralph Martin its 2013 PNA Lifetime Achievement Award for his track record of excellence and service to newspapers and journalism. He is president and CEO of Pittsburgh-based Trib Total Media Inc., parent company of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and other western Pennsylvania newspapers. James McClure received the Benjamin Franklin Award for Excellence. He has been the editor of the York Daily Record/Sunday News since 2004 and was managing editor of the paper for 15 years. He also is east region editor for Digital First Media and provides oversight for 24 newsrooms and approximately 50 weeklies. He is the author or co-author of seven books on York County history and writes a daily York County history blog.

Other

Texas-based Fastsigns International Inc. gave Angela Allison of Fastsigns of Lancaster one of seven national Platinum Sales awards for garnering at least $900,000 in sales between July 1, 2012, and June 30, 2013. She also received the Regional Sales Achievement Award for having the highest total sales in the region.
