Judge extends Harrisburg receivership for two years

By

Commonwealth Court Judge Bonnie B. Leadbetter today issued an order extending the term of Harrisburg's receiver for two more years.

The receivership was set to expire next month. It now runs through Dec. 1, 2015.

Last week, C. Alan Walker, the secretary of the state Department of Community and Economic Development, filed a two-year extension request to allow the office to continue implementing the Harrisburg Strong Plan.

Receiver William Lynch remains committed to getting the city out of receivership as soon as possible, spokesman Cory Angell said.
