A historic property in Lebanon recently sold at auction.

The Canal House, as it is known, at Ninth and Maple streets in the city sold at an auction for $125,000, though the new owner has asked to remain anonymous.

The house dates back to 1825 when construction started with handmade bricks from the Schuylkill and Susquehanna Canal Company, according to officials from Fortna Auctioneers and Marketing Group, which administered the auction.

The 3,800-square-foot house sits on about a half-acre of land.
