American Made Matters, a made-in-America initiative founded by Lancaster County businessman Don Rongione, will hold its first American Made Matters Day event Nov. 19 in Berks County.

The even is meant to highlight American manufacturing companies, such as Rongione’s Adamstown-based Bollman Hat Co., and the importance of American manufacturing to the larger state and national economies, according to AMM.

The events begin at 10 a.m. with announcements from the state Department of Community and Economic Development about a manufacturing initiatives. There will also be speeches from Rongione, Henson Group President John Purnell and Custom Processing Services Inc. President Gregory J. Shermanski.

American Made Matters will also screen “The American Made Movie,” a feature-length film about manufacturing, starting at noon.

The event will be held at the Greater Berks Chamber of Commerce Center for Business Excellence at 49 Commerce Drive, Spring Ridge, Pa.

Rongione started AMM in 2009, and the movement to promote American manufacturing has grown considerably since then.
