The York Water Co. has signed another agreement this year to acquire wastewater assets in York County, the York-based company said today while also announcing third-quarter earnings results.

The company signed Oct. 8 the agreement for assets of SYC WWTP LP in Shrewsbury and Springfield townships in southern York County, according to a news release.

York Water expects the deal to close in the first quarter next year, adding about 30 commercial and industrial wastewater customers, the release stated.

The company said the two acquisition moves this year more than triple its wastewater business, which the firm just recently entered after nearly 200 years of existence.

Also today, York Water reported third-quarter net income of nearly $2.54 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with about $2.76 million, or 22 cents per share, in the year-ago period.

Shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol YORW.
