The state collected about $2.1 billion in General Fund revenue in October, or about 1.4 percent better than expected, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
Corporation tax revenue for October was about $159.9 million, or about $20.2 million above the estimate, the department said.
In addition, slots revenue generated from people playing the machines at Pennsylvania casinos increased last month with the help of a facility that opened this summer, according to a separate release from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Revenue grew by about 0.3 percent to nearly $189 million from 12 casinos.
However, not including the additional facility that wasn’t open yet in October 2012, revenue fell by about 0.6 percent, the board said.
