Lancaster County-based Armstrong World Industries Inc. today said it is making several changes to its executive structure prompted by the retirement this month of Armstrong Flooring Products CEO Frank J. Ready.

Since 1983, Ready has held multiple management positions with the flooring, ceiling and building products manufacturer. He started as part of Armstrong’s sales department for building products, according to the company. He also worked in marketing, sales and manufacturing management for the flooring division.

Ready, a Cherry Hill, N.J.-native, also is a board member for the Tropical Forest Foundation and the National Association of Manufacturers, according to his bio on the company website.

Thomas Mangas will succeed Ready as flooring products CEO, according to the company. Mangas has served as chief financial officer of Armstrong since 2010. He also has been a leader in information technology, global business services and process improvement.

David Schulz, Armstrong’s vice president of finance for the building products division, will become the company’s CFO. Schulz joined Armstrong in 2011, after a 14-year career with Procter & Gamble as well as the J.M. Smucker Co. in multiple financial leadership positions.

All changes will be effective on Nov. 16, according to the company.

Armstrong recently said it would be expanding its Lancaster flooring production by bringing high-end tile manufacturing back from China and hiring more Central Pennsylvania workers.

Armstrong, based in Manor Township, trades its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol AWI.
