Millersville University seeks input for first TEDxLancaster in May

By

Millersville University has received the rights to hold the first-ever TEDxLancaster in May and is seeking input as it assembles the program.

“We are looking for a small team of creative people to help us create the first TEDxLancaster,” MU said in a news release. “If you are interested in volunteering to help us put this together, choose speakers, topics, etc., we would like to hear from you.”

TEDx is modeled on the renowned TED program, a nonprofit focusing on ideas worth spreading by holding conferences in which thinkers and doers give the talks of their lives in 18 minutes or fewer. TED began in 1984 with technology, entertainment and design but has since expanded its subject area. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, giving communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

Laura Kendall, director of MU’s Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center, is leading the effort.
