UGI Utilities — Gas Division next week is starting a natural gas main replacement project as a second phase of infrastructure betterment in downtown Harrisburg.

The project will begin Monday on four blocks of the east side of North Second Street as well as a block of Pine Street, according to UGI.

It recently completed the first phase of the effort with a pipeline replacement project on North Third Street and several adjoining streets, according to a news release.

The North Second Street project is expected to take several months to complete, with work extending from State Street to Walnut Street.

The division is part of Berks County-based UGI Utilities Inc.
