Vital pieces of the Lancaster County Convention Center financing plan announced nearly two months ago have yet to be enacted, according to a news release by plan architect Scott F. Martin.
Martin, a Lancaster County commissioner, said Lancaster County Convention Authority Board Members have voted 6-0 in favor of the plan. He encouraged the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau and Penn Square Partners to do the same, and indicated hope that the City of Lancaster will receive affirmation from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development of its participation in the City Revitalization and Improvement Zones program.
Those approvals need to be in hand before the county and Wells Fargo can execute their portions of the agreement by January 2014, Martin said.
Announcing the plan in September, Martin said it had been in the works for about a year and involved concessions on all sides.
