Rutter's Farm Stores plans to open its 59th store in the midstate in December with a plan to hire about 35 people.

Alexandra Henry, communications manager for Rutter’s Farm Stores, said the new store at 714 W. Main St. in Mechanicsburg is now hiring, and included in the 35 new employees will be three management positions.

The store will be the fourth Rutter’s location in Cumberland County. The company purchased the land, formerly the location of Weiser’s Market, during the summer, Henry said.

She said the local approval process took about one year to complete for the York-based company. Construction of the store did not include any new traffic lights or traffic patterns.

The store will be open 24 hours, with Rutter’s milk and dairy products available, indoor seating for 28 people and 10 gas pumps.
