An Upper Allen Township home has sold for $1.3 million, the highest amount seen to date in the Mechanicsburg Area School District, according to the Central Penn Multi-List Inc.
The six-bedroom home at 421 McCormick Road sits on 5 acres, was built in 1993 and was last assessed at $1.45 million, according to Cumberland County court records.
Lemoyne-based RSR Realtors brokered the deal for the sellers. RSR has handled some of the largest residential deals in that area in the last two years, including the sale of 403 Park Circle for $865,000 and 2839 Myrtle Drive for $810,000.
Currently, RSR is the exclusive listing agent for four of the top homes in Upper Allen: 74 Emlyn Lane, with an asking price of $1.29 million; 1007 Brookwood Drive, $784,900; 2810 Myrtle Drive, 749,900; and 10 Emlyn Lane, $699,900.
While some buyers looking in the upper price range may consider building new, many existing homes are on more-spacious lots in established, quiet communities, said Garrett Rothman, broker of record.
The McCormick Road home has a separate garage with an upstairs apartment. Other amenities include a pool, koi pond and a great view overlooking the Yellow Breeches Creek, according to RSR.
