Potential and existing small businesses are eligible for a $25,000 cash award for coming up with a great new technology idea.

Ben Franklin Partners is set to launch a website that will allow start-ups to submit their ideas to its Big Idea Business Plan contest.

The program will launch bigidea.benfranklin.org on Oct. 18 and accept applications for one of two grand prizes worth $25,000 each.

In addition to the cash prize, there will be one year of free website hosting, six months rent-free at the Ben Franklin TechCelerator @ Carlisle and additional benefits.

The contest is open to anyone within the 25 counties of the midstate, including Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York. You must have developed or are developing a new and innovative tech product or process. If the product already has been developed, you cannot have any significant sales.

The company must have fewer than 50 employees and must not have received Ben Franklin funding previously.
