Pittsburgh-based Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, which has offices in Cumberland and Dauphin counties, this week announced the acquisition of Cleveland-based Chartwell Group Commercial Real Estate Brokers and its related Chartwell Auctions Accelerated Auction Group.

The nation's fourth-largest broker has renamed its commercial division Hanna Chartwell.

Mac Biggar, the former CEO of Chartwell Group, will lead the new commercial real estate corporation as its president and COO.

Howard Hanna already had commercial offices in Pittsburgh and Erie. Additional expansion into new real estate markets — the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, for example — is being contemplated for 2014 and beyond, according to officials.
