The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is accepting unsolicited proposals for public-private partnerships, or P3s, in the transportation arena until Oct. 31.
"I'm expecting that we will continue to see innovative ways to expand our partnerships with private industry to bring new and more efficient transportation services to Pennsylvanians," PennDOT Secretary Barry J. Schoch said in a statement.
The Public-Private Transportation Partnership Board recently approved two projects from the first round of unsolicited proposals last spring. It also gave PennDOT the go-ahead to pursue P3s to replace hundreds of bridges around the state.
The submission period applies to PennDOT-owned projects and infrastructure, or transportation project applications. The deadline does not apply to transportation entities outside of the governor's jurisdiction.
