Harrisburg's Sutliff Volkswagen is the state's top new-car dealer, according to Volkswagen Group of America.
“Sutliff’s continual investment to provide quality vehicles and service to local drivers has earned them the top spot for the number of Volkswagens sold in Pennsylvania,” said David Durant, Volkswagen’s Northeast regional director.
Owned by Harrisburg-based Sutliff Auto Group, the Dauphin County dealership is approaching 600 sales of new Volkswagen models this year, said President John Sutliff.
“It’s just a matter of time before we’re selling 1,000 per year,” he said. “If it’s not this year, then next.”
He credits the dealership’s location off Interstate 83 and Paxton Street, plus its modern look and dedicated staff for the brand’s success in the Harrisburg area.
Last year, Sutliff completed a $700,000 remodel of the 30,000-square-foot showroom on Paxton Street — the first in Pennsylvania to incorporate what is called the Volkswagen white square design concept.
Sutliff Auto Group acquired the franchise in November 2009. It replaced the discontinued Saturn brand.
