Federal government shutdown actions have led to the closure in Adams County of the David Wills House and the Eisenhower National Historic Site, limited access to Gettysburg National Military Park and furloughed park rangers, according to the Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Independently contracted, licensed battlefield guides and other tours of the battlefield can continue but with limited access to some areas, according to a news release.

The bureau has been talking with visitors about available opportunities in lieu of the shutdown, encouraging travelers to keep plans, and has been in close communication with its member businesses about developments and opportunities.

Privately operated museums, including the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, and other programs and businesses remain in operation, the bureau said.
