Lancaster General Health's new Parkesburg health center in Chester County will open Oct. 16.
LG Health has scheduled an open house for a few days later -- Saturday, Oct. 19 -- from 9 a.m. to noon, complete with tours and a chance to meet the staff.
The 39,000-square-foot center at 950 Octorara Trail (Route 10), just south of Route 30, will feature primary and specialty care, outpatient services and an urgent care department, which will be open seven days a week with extended hours to treat patients with minor medical emergencies.
The center will offer outpatient lab testing, X-ray, digital mammography and MRI along with cardiac and pulmonary function testing, physical therapy, diabetes education and home sleep studies.
Physician cardiology care will be provided by The Heart Group of LG Health, and OB/GYN and women’s health by LG Health Physicians Family & Maternity Medicine will begin in November. LG Health Physicians Parkesburg Family Medicine will open in winter 2014, and orthopedics and neurosurgery consults will be offered in the near future, according to a news release.
LG Health has described Parkesburg as one of the fastest-growing areas in the region, and LG Health President and CEO Tom Beeman said area residents have expressed a need for more health care services near them.
Arcadia Properties LLC of Bethlehem is developer of the $16 million project, which will be part of the planned Sadsbury Commons development, an 80-plus acre residential, commercial and retail complex.
