In brief: IRS tests new interactive application for charities

By

The Interal Revenue Service is testing an interactive version of Form 1023, which organizations use to apply for 501(c)(3) status.

According to the IRS website, the full version will be released later this year. The IRS has said that its goal in developing the interactive form, which features educational components, is to encourage the filing of complete and accurate applications and to improve the quality and consistency of exemption applications.
