Virginia-based Celerity, which has operations in Lower Allen Township, has acquired a western Pennsylvania digital agency for an undisclosed amount.

Celerity, a business acceleration consultancy with more than 600 employees, announced this week it acquired 3PC Media, an 11-person office in Wexford of designers, developers, and marketing and brand experts.

All 11 of the employees will be retained by Celerity, according to Melissa Watson, spokeswoman for the company.

3PC Media has developed applications for companies such as BASF, Eaton and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

"The decision to acquire 3PC Media was an easy one due to the fact that our firms have highly synergistic core values and operating philosophies," said Celerity CEO Michael Berkman. "Our goal with this partnership is to enable clients to get their digital products and services to market better and faster than their competitors. And we're excited to do just that."

Company officials said 3PC will bring added expertise in Web and mobile areas, especially in Pennsylvania.

"Keeping an edge up on mobile technology is critical in today's digital economy and we want to help Pennsylvania companies accelerate that process," said Celerity PA President Jim Bailoni.
