The York-based Manufacturers' Association has listed its training center classes for the 2013-14 session.
Classes for manufacturing workers include the following:
• Basic AC and DC electricity, with focus on voltage training and various sensing devices.
• Rigging, a class for construction or general industry workers with overview of cranes, rigging, setup and communication skills.
• Electromechanical problem solving, focusing on safety procedures, installation, AC and DC voltage, and electrical schematics.
• Machinery installation, a course to develop skills for installing manual lathes and milling machines, as well as computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines.
Space in the classes is limited, but they are not restricted to apprentices, according to the association, which operates the training center in New Concept Technology Inc. at 320 Busser Road, Emigsville.
