Harrisburg area getting new beer trail

By

The partners behind Central Pennsylvania Wine Marketing LLC, which last year launched Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country, will be announcing today the start of a beer trail called Hershey Harrisburg Craft Beer Country.

The announcement is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Appalachian Brewing Co. on Cameron Street in Harrisburg.

Wine Country, a trail with 15 regional wineries, has been supported by Dauphin County through some hotel tax funds that were doled out to the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau.

The county has awarded $50,000 for startup promotion of the beer trail, which will include 12 breweries.

Central Pennsylvania also is home to the Susquehanna Ale Trail, which is run by York County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
