Steeple View Lofts to open in downtown Lancaster

By

Steeple View Lofts in Lancaster, a former tobacco warehouse renovated into retail space and 36 loft-style apartments for people ages 55 and older, will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 13.

A project of Landis Communities, Steeple View Lofts opened to tenants this spring. Miesse Candies set up shop at the end of August, and Friendship Heart Galleries has also moved into the first-floor space and set up shop.

No advance fees are required to rent the lofts, and residents may also access the Landis at Home personal-care and support services, if desired. The apartments feature what Landis refers to as classic warehouse style: have high ceilings, large windows and exposed brick.

EG Stoltzfus in East Lampeter Township was the general contractor on the project. Lancaster-based LeFevre Funk Architects Inc. designed the project.

Steeple View Lofts are at 118 N. Water St., which is owned by Pittsburgh-based Zamagias Properties. The building is just blocks from the Cityscape Lofts building that was also recently renovated and opened at 405 N. Mulberry St. The Cityscape Lofts are market-rate apartments that are not age-restricted.
