Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System announced today that it is taking part in a new accountable care organization venture with several other health systems.
According to a news release, PinnacleHealth is part of River Health ACO, which was formed April 15, and has applied to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program.
Other members of River Health ACO are Annville Family Medicine; Susquehanna Community Health and Dental Center; Laurel Health Center; Susquehanna Health, a four-hospital integrated health system serving 11 counties in Northcentral Pennsylvania; and Family Practice Center PC, 62 practices serving nine Central Pennsylvania counties.
An ACO is a network of providers working collaboratively with shared incentives based on quality metrics, patient experience surveys and financial results.
PinnacleHealth said River Health ACO will provide additional updates upon receiving the CMS decision and plans to offer services to other patient groups.
