PANO takes over Health Alliance for Nonprofits Program

By

The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations has assumed sponsorship of the Health Alliance for Nonprofits Program and plans to expand its offerings throughout the state.

Started in the early 1990s to help nonprofit organizations purchase competitively priced health insurance, HANP has until now been sponsored by the United Way of Allegheny County and served a limited geographic area.

The Pennsylvania-based insurance brokerage and consulting firm JRG Advisors has worked with the HANP since its inception and will continue in that role.

“The statewide purchasing clout PANO brings to the HANP will boost negotiations and help us to expand the portfolio of insurance products designed to meet the specific needs of members and their employees in the face of health care reform,” Jessica Galardini of JRG Advisors said in a news release.

HANP offerings include individual and group health insurance; dental and vision coverage; voluntary benefits; business insurance; human resources solutions; billing and administration; employee communications; and a dedicated Client Resource Center.
