PUC to hold hearing on increasing Columbia Water rates by 19 percent

By

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission will hold a public input hearing for Lancaster County-based Columbia Water Co.'s proposed rate increase to grow revenue by more than 19 percent, according to a PUC news release.

The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Columbia No. 1 Fire Department station at 137 S. Front St., according to the release.

The commission voted in June to investigate the proposed rate increase, the release stated.

Last year, the PUC approved Columbia Water’s acquisition of The Marietta Gravity Water Co.
