P.H. Glatfelter Co. has a new vice president and general manager for its Specialty Papers Business Unit effective today, the York-based company said.
The business unit, which includes the firm's Spring Grove facility in York County, makes products for uses such as multi-part forms, security papers, mailing, food-grade products, digital imaging and book publishing, according to Glatfelter's most recent annual report.
Also this week, Glatfelter said a recent fire at a Canadian airlaid facility making absorbent, nonwoven materials for the feminine hygiene and specialty wipes markets might affect third-quarter results due to factors that include lower shipments.
Because of capacity at another facility in Germany, the firm anticipates a "modest impact" on third-quarter shipments of about 600 to 1,000 metric tons, according to the separate news release.
There were no injuries or environmental impacts from the fire, the release stated.
