Gov. Tom Corbett said last month he had appointed David W. Woods, chief of staff to state Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, as a member of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

He formerly served in the same capacity to Sen. F. Joseph Loeper from 1979 to 1998 and was also a senior vice president for PECO Energy Co. and Exelon Corp., according to a news release.

The seven-member board oversees the 11 casinos in the commonwealth.
