In brief: RLS Construction receives more Altoona VA work

York County-based RLS Construction Group said it received a second job in the ongoing renovation of the James Van Zandt Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Altoona.

RLS will renovate the seventh floor of the hospital's first building. The $437,895 project began July 9 and is expected to be complete in six months, according to the company.

It's also renovating the VA's second building, including construction of a 1,700-square-foot connector facility with offices. The $1.1 million project could be complete by the year's end, the company said.

RLS works on other Pennsylvania VA hospitals, including Lebanon. In April, the Carroll Township company started renovating Harrisburg offices for the U.S. Marshals Service.
