Illinois-based Exelon Corp., with nuclear facilities in the midstate, has updated its greenhouse gas reduction goals to abate 17.5 million metric tons of emissions per year by 2020 following the combination with Constellation Energy Group.

The 2012 Exelon Corporation Sustainability Report is the first complete and integrated record on efforts since the combination in early 2012, a news release stated.

Among accomplishments for last year was adding nearly 500 megawatts of new and clean generating capacity, including 404 megawatts of new wind projects, 31 megawatts of new solar projects and 63 megawatts of nuclear power uprates, according to the release.
