International Association of Facilitators gave York County Economic Alliance a Gold Facilitation Impact Award for its collaboration with York County Alliance for Learning to develop a Business and Education Partnership Roundtable in 2011 that brought educators and employers together in support of local workforce development. Since then, school districts and employers have partnered to enhance curriculum, share resources and identify solutions to challenges.


Penn State University named Keith Cheng a Distinguished Professor in recognition of his academic contribution to the school. Cheng is a professor of pathology with Penn State College of Medicine and a respected researcher in several fields, including genetic mechanisms that cause cancer and basic mechanisms underlying the relationship between human skin pigmentation and cancer. Cheng joined Penn State Hershey in 1992 as an assistant professor of pathology. He is an author of numerous journal articles.


Washington, D.C.-based Muscular Dystrophy Association gave Penn State Hershey MDA Clinic its 2012 Hope Award for Best Clinic among 23 MDA clinics in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.


Creative Images Inc. gave 2013 Aster Awards to a number of local health care organizations and advertising agencies. East Hempfield Township-based Dean Design/Marketing Group won a gold award for its Beacon newspaper advertising insert for Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. Franklin Street Marketing of Richmond, Va., won a silver award for its Good Samaritan Cardiac TV advertising series for Lebanon-based Good Samaritan Health System. TCG Advertising & Design of East Petersburg won a silver award for East Pennsboro Township-based Holy Spirit Health System's 2012 radio branding campaign, as well as bronze awards for the health system's For Your Life newsletter series and 2012 branding billboards and TV spot. Acrobatant of Tulsa, Okla., won a bronze award for its cancer advertising campaign for Florida-based Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Marketing Works of Springettsbury Township won gold awards for its SmartMamm advertising campaign and physician referral project for Princeton Radiology in Kendall Park, N.J. It also won a silver award in logo design and letterhead for Larchmont Medical Imaging in Hainesport, N.J. Summit Health of Chambersburg won a gold award for its Patient Bill of Rights sign, and bronze awards for its Tackle Breast Cancer mammography advertising campaign, a wound care billboard and its Summit Health Group Facebook page. Martin Communications of New Cumberland won a gold award for Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System's ortho stacked billboard design, and a silver award for Williamsport-based Susquehanna Health's GI Direct Referral campaign.


Alexandria, Va.-based American Network of Community Options and Resources gave Kaori Kelly its Pennsylvania Direct Support Professional Award in recognition of the dedication she displayed in initiating work experience for one of her clients. Kelly first created volunteer opportunities for the woman, and then, recognizing that the woman loved colors and animals, identified a family-owned pet food business with a part-time job available. Kelly also assisted her charge in taking out a gym membership and learning to have conversations with other exercisers. The woman later acquired an additional part-time job at the gym. Kelly is employed with Dauphin County-based Keystone Human Services Intellectual Disabilities.


Coldwell Banker International named Manheim Township-based Coldwell Banker Select Professionals to its Chairman's Circle, which recognizes affiliates that had closed adjusted gross commission income of $8 million or more during the 2012 calendar year. Only 51 Coldwell Banker companies qualified for the award.
