In brief: HIA receives $400K taxiway grant

By ,

Harrisburg International Airport has received a federal grant for $400,000 to make taxiway upgrades, according to a news release June 21 from U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, DPennsylvania.

"Harrisburg International Airport is a key driver of the region's economy," Casey said. "This grant will allow the airport to improve its facilities and make critical updates to help ensure that it continues to be a safe and reliable hub of transportation for Central Pennsylvania."

The U.S. Department of Transportation grant will allow HIA to rehabilitate pavement on Taxiway Alpha, which has reached the end of its useful life.
