The Cumberland Area Economic Development Corp. is planning to hold an annual meeting open to business and the public later this year that will focus on the impact of global logistics on the economy of Central Pennsylvania.
The working theme of the event will be “the Panama Canal to South Central Pennsylvania,” said Jonathan Bowser, CAEDC’s economic development director and corporate vice president.
The event likely will be in October, and the group is working on bringing representatives from large logistics companies and other organizations to discuss the impact of global logistics on local economies, Bowser said. It’s still early in the planning process, he said.
The overarching goal would be to enhance discussions about sustainable growth in the logistics sectors, as well as other midstate industries, he said.
