The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is holding an open house Tuesday in Cumberland County to display plans and brief the public on a $75 million widening of 5 miles on the turnpike there.
The commission is planning the display meeting for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 18 in the social room of the Newburg Hopewell Volunteer Fire Co., 121 Lovers Lane, Newburg. The public can view plans, proposed bridge replacements, and detour routes for the project, as well as ask questions of turnpike staff.
The proposed project in Hopewell and Upper Mifflin townships will widen the turnpike to six lanes, replace three bridges and includes relocating part of Enola Road at its crossing with the turnpike.
The project is just now in the planning phases, according to the commission.
