After six months of construction, DRT Transportation LLC will unveil its new facility in Lebanon County later this month.
The 6,000-square-foot facility is at 850 Helen Drive in the Tuck Business Park, North Cornwall Township. Arthur Funk & Sons Inc. handled the design, engineering and construction, according to company President Bob Funk.
The open house and ribbon-cutting will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. June 19, according to a news release.
When construction began in October, DRT President Robert Kemp said, “This groundbreaking ... shows that there is still opportunity for business to grow in Lebanon.
“It’s a great feeling to take an idea, and turn it into a business that provides good jobs to members of our community, helps to build our tax base that funds school, parks and services, and makes Lebanon more vibrant, stronger and economically successful,” Kemp said in a news release.
Employees moved into the building in early May, said Lori Horst, DRT office manager.
The location will bring together K&R Sales Inc., which Hemp and co-owner Terry Ryan founded about 10 years ago, and DRT, a transportation brokerage that provides logistics services nationwide.
K&R is “strictly a commission-based sales” business that Hemp and Ryan run, Horst said. In 2007, the pair founded DRT, of which Hemp is president and Ryan is vice president. Both businesses will operate out of the building.
DRT has branches in Houston; Knoxville, Tenn.; and Atlanta, according to its website.
