In brief: Rite Aid names Bodaken to its board

Cumberland County-based drugstore chain Rite Aid Corp.'s board of directors has elected Bruce Bodaken to the board.

Bodaken was president, CEO and chairman of Blue Shield of California from 2000 to 2012 and was president and chief operating officer from 1995-2000, according to a news release. The company expects to benefit from his in-depth knowledge of the health care industry and 20 years of executive leadership experience.

Rite Aid has more than 4,600 stores in 31 states and Washington, D.C. Shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RAD.
