Landscape architecture and civil engineering firm RGS Associates Inc. held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week to mark the official opening of its Lancaster headquarters.
Previously based in Brownstown, RGS has moved into a former tobacco warehouse at 53 W. James St. The space formerly was occupied by the Lancaster County Community Foundation, which moved to West King Street. RGS also has a branch in York.
The company opened the Lancaster office in January. It postponed the ribbon-cutting until May to give staff a chance to settle in and to take advantage of warmer weather, spokeswoman Nicole Seuffert said.
The new space allows for a better office layout than the private house RGS occupied in Brownstown, and Lancaster's amenities are expected to aid in employee recruitment and retention, RGS Principal Joel Snyder told the Business Journal in November.
