East Hempfield Township-based Warfel Construction Co. last week named Matthew Hartzler the firm's new president.
Hartzler, who has been with the company for 18 years, has been vice president and a partner since 2007. He moved up the ranks from a project engineer to project manager by 1997 and assumed the role of assistant manager of operations in 2003.
Former president Ralph Simpson Sr. will remain the company’s CEO, according to a Warfel news release.
As president, Hartzler is tasked with providing executive oversight on projects from marketing through design and construction. A Manheim resident, he received his bachelor’s degree in structural design and construction engineering technology from Penn State University.
Warfel posted revenue of $82 million last year, according to Business Journal records. Warfel is one of the top construction firms in Central Pennsylvania, coming in at No. 5 on last year’s Top 100 private companies list.
