The general manager of an East Hempfield Township funeral home is moving forward with plans to launch a cremation service.

Cremation Services of Lancaster will add a crematory to the existing Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home and operate as a separate business there as an S Corporation under sole ownership of Jeremy R. DeBord, according to a news release. DeBord is currently general manager of Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, of which the Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home is a branch.

DeBord said Cremation Services of Lancaster will allow people to make cremation and memorial service arrangements in person, online or over the telephone. The business will also offer scattering options and funeral-related merchandise such as cremation vaults, urns and keepsake jewelry.
