In brief: Holy Spirit, HACC adjust radiology program

By - Last modified: April 12, 2013 at 9:37 AM

A radiology technology program that since 1980 has allowed students to enroll at Harrisburg Area Community College or Holy Spirit Hospital will now use Holy Spirit only as a clinical site.

The six students currently in Holy Spirit's program will finish at HACC but continue their clinical rotations at Holy Spirit. Prospective students must now apply to HACC, which accepts the top 25 students for its two-year program. There are typically 100 applications. The next class starts in January 2014, according to HACC.

HACC currently has 19 clinical sites throughout Central Pennsylvania where students will do their clinical studies. HACC will be applying to the Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiologic Technology to add sites within the Holy Spirit Health System.
