Walmart associates volunteered to feed students on the first day of school Aug. 29 at the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster’s Jack Walker Clubhouse. The volunteer effort coincided with Boys & Girls Club receiving a $104,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation to support its Supper Club program. Reilly Wolfson, a supporter of Conquer Cancer with a Quarter for the past 13 years, this year provided financial and volunteer support. Hosted by the American Cancer Society and Lebanon Broadcasting, the event at the Lebanon Valley Mall raised $30,566. Belco Community Credit Union joined National Night Out, a free event aimed at enhancing police-community relationships, on Aug. 2 at three locations: Swatara Township at Vanatta Park in Harrisburg, The Mix at Arbor Place in Lancaster, and Lower Paxton Township at George Park in Harrisburg. Belco also participated in the National Night Out celebration on Aug. 8 at Target in Hanover. This is the third year Belco participated in the local National Night Out by setting up a table with a free game and giveaways.
