Association of Rehabilitation Nurses named Stacey Goldfarb, Barbra Gusst, Heather Metzler, Erin O'Brien, Casey Sheaffer and Racine Swartz certified rehabilitation registered nurses. They are employed with Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital.

Chester County-based American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters named Margie Goshert of Horst Insurance an associate in commercial underwriting.


The commonwealth of Pennsylvania posthumously named Hannah Callowhill Penn a Distinguished Daughter of Pennsylvania. She ruled the colony of Pennsylvania for six years after her husband, William Penn, was incapacitated by a stroke in 1712. After his death, she ruled for another eight years in her own name. During that time in Britain, no other women, aside from Queen Mary II and Queen Anne, held direct political power of that kind.


YWCA Greater Harrisburg named Marisol Aviles de Ortiz, Alison Ballantine, Cate Barron, Elizabeth Bates, Marilyn Bowers, Lori Clark Robinson, Cheryl Dellasega, Jennifer Doyle, Susan Eveland, Amy Foerster, Jennifer Gallia, Peggy Grove, Amy Hahn, Kristen Houser, Kandace Kerwin Hull, Dolly Lalvani, Angela Liddle, Victoria Madden, Una Martone, Sheri Matter, Sandra Neydl, Cynthia Reinhart, Alicelyn Watson Sleber, Jessica Sprajcar and Lecia Stanley Jordan 2013 Women of Excellence. Louise Kunkel was named Legacy Honoree and Phebe West was named Emerging Leader Honoree.

Lutheran Social Services gave its 2013 LSS Cornerstone Award to the Wagman family and Wagman Cos. Inc. in recognition of exceptional generosity to the community through direct charitable support, leadership and volunteer service. Wagman's commitment to community was established by its early generations and remains one of the six core values at Wagman, a fourth-generation family business. Its Wagman Corporate Community Fund provides financial support, and Wagman family members have worked on numerous local boards, including Access York, Catholic Social Services, Children's Home of York, Cultural Alliance, Lutheran Social Services of South Central PA and Memorial Hospital.


Realtors Association of York & Adams Counties gave Ken Mathys and Billie Jo Mazol Realtor Appreciation awards, Bob Aldinger a Distinguished Service Award and Russ Bardolf a Community Service Award. Jon Holmes of Gordon L. Brown & Associates was named Affiliate of the Year, and Kraig Hursh was named Realtor of the Year. John LeCates received a presidential plaque. Jacqueline Altland, Jeffrey Arnold, Polly Beckner, Robert Best, John Bowman, Ruby Darr, Ginny Edwards, Brian Gilbert, Sally Glock, Cindi Grove, Sonny Lehr, Linda Morrett and Shirley Simpson received 25-year pins, while Ken Mathys and Joe Mancuso were named Realtors emeriti in recognition of 40 years of membership.
