Seven midstate businesses were among 36 receiving state grants recently for energy-efficient and pollution-prevention projects.
The Small Business Advantage Grant reimburses companies with fewer than 100 employees for 50 percent of eligible projects, up to a maximum of $9,500. The state Department of Environmental Protection administers the program, which is funded through the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act.
Midstate companies receiving grants were as follows, according to DEP:
• Hal's Hauling, $5,000
• Terry J. Motter, $5,000
• Vartan Group Inc., $9,500
• Musselman Lumber Inc., $8,520
• Refreshing Mountain Camp, $5,900
• Sunset Wholesale, $9,500
• Fawn Industries Inc., $3,600
In all, the 36 grants statewide totaled $290,010, DEP said.
