A Susquehanna Township-based managed behavioral health care organization installed former Aetna executive Michael Golinkoff as its president on March 11.
Community Behavioral HealthCare Network of Pennsylvania, which does business outside Pennsylvania as PerformCare, is part of the Philadelphia-based AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies. Golinkoff will lead PerformCare's national business and serve as a senior vice president for AMFC, focusing on behavioral health approaches to address medical issues in the populations served.
"I am pleased to have the opportunity to improve access to and the quality of behavioral health care for those less fortunate," Golinkoff wrote in a news release. "Many Medicaid enrollees also face mental health challenges that can have a negative impact on their physical health. I look forward to working with PerformCare's state and private partners to help improve access to quality, member-centric behavioral health care services."
Golinkoff holds a Ph.D. in clinical and developmental psychology from the University of Illinois-Chicago and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his pre- and post-doctoral internship and fellowship at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.
At Aetna, Golinkoff was head of clinical specialty operations and, previously, head of behavioral health operations. He also spent nine years in senior leadership roles at United Behavioral Health and, before that, was clinical director at Westmeade Center, director of the outpatient evaluation service at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital and a staff psychologist at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut.
Founded in 1995, PerformCare serves more than 1 million members nationwide. AMFC operates in 14 states and serves more than 4.7 million Medicaid, Medicare and CHIP members through Medicaid managed care, pharmaceutical benefit management, behavioral health and other administrative services.
